Farming

The Farming program is designed to allow each intern to gain practical experiences in a variety of activities in local agricultural settings. Interns participate in cleaning, maintenance, and safety at agricultural, ranch and school sites.

Experiences include learning to use and identify a variety of tools and when to plant and harvest vegetables culminating with  preparing a vegetable garden for planting and harvesting what they grow.

Interns are exposed to the tools and the trades associated with horse ranching  and animals. Working at a local equine related therapy center, they learn to groom horses, clean stalls and do what is needed to maintain healthy animals.

In addition to working at local agricultural related businesses, the interns learn customer service and money handling skills by selling the vegetables that they grow.
